Music Type: Americana \ Country Singer\Songwriter Steve Richards was born in Los Angeles, California in 1955. Residing
in Arizona, Steve’s love of music came at a very early age when he
tried his hand at writing lyrics to an old Beau Brummels song titled
(Laugh, Laugh). He was hooked.
After a hitch in the United States Air Force during the latter part of
the Vietnam War, Steve’s love for songwriting and guitar playing
became apparent as he began crafting songs from his everyday life.
In the late 90’s Steve met Gary Buck, President of The Canadian
Country Music Hall of Fame and owner of Broadland International Records
in Nashville. Gary helped guide Steve in bringing his inspirations to
life. Steve’s
upcoming CD Release “Southbound Train” is a labor of love that Steve
has crafted into his own masterpiece. The Southbound tracks penned by
Steve, bring to you a visual adventure that reminds the listener of his
all time favorite songwriters Harry
Chapin and Justin Hayward. Steve
is able to weave tales of Romance and Adventure with songs of Happiness
and Sorrow. Deeply
inspiring, and sometimes spiritually moving are how Steve’s songs have
been described. With
a never before released Buddy Holly song titled “That Makes It
Tough” along with Nashville Songwriter, Scott Turner’s “West Texas
Tears” a tear rendering tribute to Marty Robbins, Steve has been able
to capture the essence of a by-gone era. The title cut
“SOUTHBOUND TRAIN”
is a story about a ghost, eternally trapped on a train.
He’s trying to get back to his true love, only to find out that
he’s just that, A
GHOST ! |
