Southbound Train is the upcoming CD release Southbound Train was recorded at Merit Studio in Nashville with Gary Buck of Broadland International Records as Producer. Through Gary, Steve has had the pleasure of working with some of Nashville’s Finest “A” list Musicians.Over the course of 3 years, Steve has flown to Nashville several times to lay down the tracks that have become “Southbound Train”. Once the tracks were complete, the 2” Masters were flown to Phoenix where Steve and Victoria contacted Don Salter, owner of The Saltmine Studio in Mesa Arizona about Final Mixdown and Mastering. John Gray, Pro-Tools Wizard of the West and The Saltmine Studio’s Lead Engineer was given the task at hand, and new life was brought to the already phenomenal tracks out of Nashville. Additionally, two songs “That Makes It Tough” by Buddy Holly, and “Take Me To the Rain” written by Steve, were both recorded entirely at the Saltmine with Don, and John, and Steve all at the Production Helm. Many thanks go to Jimmy
Nichols who flew into Phoenix from Nashville to play on the Tracks,
along with Mike G. Smith who lives here in Phoenix and runs Gatlin
Brothers Music, Marty
Friedman for his great licks on “That Makes It Tough” and David
Ellefson for playing Bass on both cuts. The other musicians that rounded out the Phoenix Sessions were,
Mike Andrews on drums, Dave Doud on Acoustic guitar, Dominic Amato who
played Saxophone on “That Makes It Tough” and Steve on Vocals and
Rhythm Guitar. Out Deepest Appreciation goes out to you all ! Steve and Victoria Richards |
